About BISE Sahiwal

BISE Sahiwal is the youngest board in Punjab, established on 15 June 2012 by the Higher Education Department of Punjab. Its origin story is unique among all nine Punjab boards – it was assembled from two different parent boards. Sahiwal and Pakpattan districts were separated from BISE Multan, while Okara district was separated from BISE Lahore. No other board in Punjab was built from two different parent boards simultaneously.

The board is headquartered in Sahiwal city and covers three districts – Sahiwal, Okara, and Pakpattan. Sahiwal district borders the famous Harappa archaeological site – one of the greatest cities of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization dating back over 4,000 years. The contrast between a board established in 2012 and a Bronze Age city nearby makes BISE Sahiwal’s jurisdiction one of the most historically rich in Punjab. The board conducts annual and supplementary examinations for matric and intermediate classes every year and is steadily growing in student enrollment and institutional strength.
